This country club pool deck had many linear feet of hairline cracking due to the absence of enough expansion joints when originally poured. We find this to happen often and the cracks that form end up creating the necessary movement joint in the form of a crack. Since this is the natural weak point of the concrete we used our random stone etching pattern to create a stone inlay design over where the existing cracks had been v-grinded and repaired with our polymer cement. The custom design installed and etched will act as a natural control joint should the concrete continue to move beneath. The etched cuts should open as the new control joints.
